Budva is the undisputed capital of Montenegrin tourism, yet its true treasures remain hidden from the eyes of the masses. When city beaches become crowded at the height of the season, residents of Oakleaf Residences choose a different path — the sea.
We have curated a list of five locations along the Budva Riviera where turquoise waters, silence, and absolute privacy are guaranteed, provided you arrive by yacht.
Everyone knows “Školj” (St. Nicholas Island), visible from any point in Budva. However, 90% of tourists remain on the side serviced by water taxis.
Why go by yacht: The far side of the island features sheer cliffs and tiny coves with crystal-clear water. There are no sunbeds or bars here — just you and the Adriatic. It is an ideal spot for morning snorkeling, where water visibility can reach 20–30 meters.
This beach is often cited as one of the most beautiful in Montenegro due to the unusual color of its sand—it is nearly white, giving the water a tropical, vivid blue hue.
Why go by yacht: Accessing the beach by land requires navigating a steep, narrow descent. Arriving by yacht spares you the serpentine roads. You can drop anchor a few hundred meters offshore, enjoy the mountain vistas, and take a tender to the shore for lunch at an authentic fish restaurant right at the water’s edge.
A little-known gem nestled between Budva and Petrovac. Here, the coastline is carved into small caves and grottoes that can only be entered by paddleboard or a small dinghy.
Why go by yacht: High cliffs protect this spot from the winds. Dropping anchor here at noon feels like having your own private natural pool. The depth allows the yacht to stay close to the rocks, a feature much appreciated by those who enjoy diving straight from the deck.
Venturing just past the popular Jaz and Trsteno beaches, you will discover the rocky shores of Platami. This isn’t a “beach” in the traditional sense, but rather a dramatic cascade of flat stone plateaus.
Why go by yacht: There are practically no roads leading here. It attracts those seeking absolute minimalism and the raw aesthetics of nature. The cliff edges plunge deep into the sea, creating dark blue basins. This spot offers the finest sunsets on the entire coast, best enjoyed with a glass of local wine on the aft deck of your yacht.
The name translates to “Maiden’s Leap.” It is a majestic site with white sheer cliffs reminiscent of Italy’s Amalfi Coast.
Why go by yacht: Hidden beneath the cliffs are strips of fine pebbles that are impossible to reach on foot. This is an “exclusive club” for boat owners. You will find complete isolation from the outside world and a view of the open sea where the horizon merges seamlessly with the sky.
